What Are Some of The Possibilities of Contracting Herpes?

There is not much of public awareness when it comes to herpes. Moreover, people who do not have herpes wonder how they can get it and what measures they should take to prevent it. Besides, people who got herpes may also not be sure about how they received it. So, to avoid such confusions below mentioned are some possibilities of contracting the herpes virus:

·     Herpes virus may get transferred into a person’s body through non-sexual contract. However, this is highly unlikely to happen as the herpes virus requires a host to thrive and multiply. The virus receives its food and nourishment from fluids running in the body. The virus temporarily can survive outside the body for a short period only, only a few seconds.

·       However, here’s a situation where you may contact the herpes virus non-sexually. This applies to use toilet seats, benches, which was previously used by a person with the herpes virus. It is highly possible that herpes may spread across from such a person’s genitals on the toilet seat, or bench. As such, if you happen to sit in the same place, you have chances of contracting the virus if you have an open wound or cut.

·   The last possible way of contracting the herpes virus is via sexual intercourse. The most common kind of herpes people are concerned with includes penis herpes, anal herpes, and vaginal herpes. Using precautions during sex can reduce the risk of herpes but doesn’t completely remove the risk. Though there is no known cure for genital herpes at present, there may be a genital herpes treatment someday in the future.

·      Herpes virus can also enter your body through kissing or oral contact. The virus may enter the body via the mouth’s mucous membrane.
